Book Description: A MADAM. A DIARY. A MURDER. The place: Montana. The time: the present. After a nearly fatal encounter with a moose and a terrifyingly close brush with middle age, Molly reassesses her life. The result: she ends her stale marriage and moves to a former mining camp where, for the price of a used car, she buys The Bluebird House, the site of an old bordello. She hires Ben–a carpenter, poet, gourmet cook and mountain man–to help her renovate the building. Molly can’t help but be attracted to the younger man, until she discovers that he was once tried and acquitted of a gruesome murder.
Shocked, she tries to uncover the truth behind the cold case and Ben’s part in it. Meanwhile, intrigued by her new home in the old brothel, Molly finds the journal of her predecessor–the German-born madam of The Bluebird House–and learns her shocking story.
About the Author: Rae Ellen Lee grew up on a stump ranch in northern Idaho. She worked for the U.S. State Dept. in Washington, D.C., Switzerland, and (what was then) Yugoslavia before attending the Univ. of Idaho, where she earned a degree in Landscape Architecture. Employment followed with the U.S. Forest Service in Idaho and Montana, where she lived in and renovated the former mining camp brothel she called The Bluebird House. She resigned her post with the Forest Service in August 1997 to move with her new husband to a sailboat at Bellingham, WA, followed by several years in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Her two rollicking, funny memoirs reflect those colorful years. She steadfastly denies that she has made “bad” choices just to have something to write about.
When not writing, Rae Ellen can be found hiking, sketching, and biting the wind with friends and her dog, Sudsie. She enjoys engaging readers by turning the truth on its ear and making fun of the ironies of life lived out on the skinny branches. She blogs about writing and making choices, and shares notes from her life-long research project and forthcoming humor book, A Field Guide to Geezers. She loves to connect with readers on her blogs, and on Twitter, Facebook, and Goodreads.

This book has romance, love, adventure, suspense, fantasy and even outdoorsmanship. The Bluebird House gets readers so involved that they feel they’re actually present in the story. This book is a gourmet meal of literary delight. Just enough nutrition, and a master chef’s understanding of spice. Rae Ellen Lee has once again underlined her mastery of the art of being a wordsmith. Lonnie Dee Robertson, Amazon Review
